A trained product designer and skilled maker, Chris Delia has worked with some of the most respected design-led furniture brands both in Australia and overseas.

Drawn to design from a young age, Chris spent his early twenties travelling the world and learning to work with a wide range of materials — from building carbon fibre racing boats to crafting and installing leather interiors for luxury homes and yachts. These hands-on experiences continue to inform his design practice today.

In his late twenties, Chris focused his craft on timber furniture and lighting, leading the production department at one of North America’s top design brands, whose clients ranged from Google to Goop.

In 2020, he returned home to Geelong with a desire to build something of his own — a company that designs and makes lighting in-house, inspired by the Australian landscape and way of life.

Today, Chris runs Sundown Lighting alongside his partner Stephanie, balancing the realities of a growing business with raising their two young daughters — a constant challenge, but one they wouldn’t have any other way.

Having chosen to focus on designing and making furniture in his late twenties, he eventually returned home to Geelong with the desire to make furniture and lighting that was Australia made and Australian inspired.

Chris runs Sundown Lighting in collaboration with his partner Stephanie in his home-town of Geelong. Stephanie and Chris are balancing running this new business with raising their daughter Marnie, a constant challenge but they wouldn't have it any other way.
